Wedding Photography-Stephanie and Ryan

Shot a a spectacular wedding in Bozeman.  The couple was such a blast to work with and willing to experiment a little.  The combination of great people, spectacular location and perfect weather made for one of the best weddings I've ever shot... Family Portrait Photography-Szwedkowicz Family

I did a family portrait for an amazing family the other day.  They were great to work with and the kids were a blast!  This was the first family portrait they've done in years...I wanted to make sure they had fun and got some great pictures out of the shoot.  We ended up going to downtown Missoula and shooting all around the parks there.  These are some of my favorite shots from their family portrait session...

Commercial Photography-Beach Transportation

I was hired to do a photo shoot for Beach Transportation (the bus company).  They were great to work with and we got some great shots.  The only downside is there's nothing quite like working with a model that is 40ft long and weighs 10 tons...the bus!  It definitely had its challenges but it all worked out and now all the shots are up on their new website.  These are some of my favorite pics from their commercial photography shoot...

Wedding Photography-Heather and Will

I photographed Heather and Will's wedding down the bitterroot.  They are such a great couple and are madly in love.  The wedding was a very small and intimate affair that they held at the family ranch.  I was so honored to be a part of it.  The entire day the weather was threatening to take a turn for the worse but all day long the sun stayed out which meant for some beautiful photos!  The couple was more than willing to try anything I asked and everyone had a great time...congrats again guys!  These are some of my favorite photos from their wedding.

Family Portrait-Tami

Tami is one of my favorite people to have in front of my lens.  At this point we've done a ton of shoots together but never did any with her kids...it was time!  She has a beautiful family and her kids are soooo freaking cute and so well behaved....you can tell that not only is she beautiful and great in front of the lens, she's a great mom too!  These are some of my favorites from their family portrait session...

Engagement portrait-Stephanie and Ryan

Shot an engagement portrait for Ryan and Stephanie...they were a blast to work with!  It was a fantastic photo shoot, they just happened to have a private access to the river behind their house which we utilized to it's fullest.  It was obvious they were madly in love and had a great sense of humor...the pics show that!  These are some of my favorites from their engagement portrait. engagement portrait couple by riverengagement portrait couple piggy backengagement portrait couple sticking tongues outengagement portrait couple by treeengagement portrait couple in hammockengagement portrait couple smilingengagement portrait couple being goofy

Help Portrait Charity Event For Headstart Families

I hosted a photo charity event where I invited my favorite photographers, makeup artists and hairstylists from around the region to give free family portraits for low income families who have kids in the Headstart program here in Missoula.    The event was simply amazing!  It was sooo great to give families portraits...many of which have never had their portrait taken.  A huge thank you needs to go out to Walgreens...they provided all the prints from the shoot...and we can't forget to thank all the volunteers who helped make it a huge success!  These are some of my favorite photos from the shoot... Senior Portrait-Luke (again)

Luke and I decided to reshoot some of the pics once the weather was nicer a few days after the original senior portrait session.  We had even more fun on this shoot and with the sun out the pics turned out amazing.  I love the senior portrait shots with his shotgun...that's him in a nutshell! Senior Portrait-Luke

Luke came to me and wanted to do a senior portrait that reflected who he was...he's a true Montanan and is obsessed with the outdoors.  So we grabbed his shotgun and headed out to get some great photos.  He was so much fun to work with...it's obvious in the pics that we had a great time...only wish the weather in Missoula had been better! Portrait photography-Dave

Dave happens to be one of my best friends in the whole world and I've never photographed him...so the last time he was in town we hit the studio and this is what resulted. He's an incredible person and super nice...it was so much fun to work with someone I'm so close with. I decided to light him with more of a dramatic and intense look...some of the shots ended up looking like a Hugo Boss add...love it! Help Portrait Info

Information on Missoula Event

First off...a huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help out with this project!  Back to business, the event will be held at the Missoula Headstart building (1001 Worden Ave over on the Northside) on April 29th from 5-8PM.  Bring your own photography equipment...we're hoping for good weather to shoot out on their playground but just in case be prepared to shoot in a gym or classroom.

Each photographer will have someone assigned to them to help with logistics.  They'll need to mark down on a clipboard the photographer's name, each family's name, the classroom their child attends, and the frame number for the first image...this will help keep things straight.  I figure it would be easiest if I do the post processing so at the end of the night we can dump all the images onto my laptop (please take good photos in the cam and only shoot in JPEG...it will just make it easier).

The event will coincide with Headstart's yearly Feed n' Read event that has all the families come to the school for a dinner...in talking with the director over there this is the best time to do the portraits...it will have the best attendance (estimate 50-60 families) and we can pull families away one at a time.  Each family will get a printed 8x10...as it stands we have to limit it to one per family (but I can give them a disc of the images as well if they'd like...though sadly most don't have computers).

Finally as it stands we only have 1 makeup artist signed up to help...please if you know anyone who is skilled at all at making people look beautiful (don't need to be professionals)...please have them get in touch with me!

Thanks,

Dax
