I had been dying to do some fun and creative photos lately so I called Nikki up and and we set up a photoshoot. I ended up doing her makeup…yes I can do makeup when needed (thank god I had a little sister growing up). Anyway I think they turned out fantastic and can’t wait to do some more fun photography with her in the near future…Details
Tis the season for family portraits here in Missoula Montana. Though the weather may feel like March and the snow is quickly fading we were able to get a very cute family portrait in. This was one of the more eventful days in Missoula since Reserve was closed due to an accident involving a semi carrying a propane tank right outside my studio…which meant all sorts of rescheduling and trying to navigate traffic all day long. Fortunately this family was a blast to work with and were great sports about everything I asked them to do…Details
I hosted a photo charity event where I invited my favorite photographers, makeup artists and hairstylists from around the region to give free family portraits for low income families who have kids in the Headstart program here in Missoula. The event was simply amazing! It was sooo great to give families portraits…many of which have never had their portrait taken. A huge thank you needs to go out to Walgreens…they provided all the prints from the shoot…and we can’t forget to thank all the volunteers who helped make it a huge success! These are some of my favorite photos from the shoot…Details
Luke and I decided to reshoot some of the pics once the weather was nicer a few days after the original senior portrait session. We had even more fun on this shoot and with the sun out the pics turned out amazing. I love the senior portrait shots with his shotgun…that’s him in a nutshell!Details
Dave happens to be one of my best friends in the whole world and I’ve never photographed him…so the last time he was in town we hit the studio and this is what resulted. He’s an incredible person and super nice…it was so much fun to work with someone I’m so close with. I decided to light him with more of a dramatic and intense look…some of the shots ended up looking like a Hugo Boss add…love it!Details
My Wife’s side of the family was in town for her grandpa’s 90th birthday! Anyway thought it would be good to bring some studio equipment and get a family portrait of the whole family together…Details
Tami is an amazing woman…she’s been going through a tough time lately and just wasn’t feeling good about herself. It’s amazing what a photo shoot can do…she transformed right before my eyes…the portraits and headshots that resulted were gorgeous!Details
Alayna drove down to Missoula for her senior portraits…we had a blast and got some fantastic shots!Details
Information on Missoula Event
First off…a huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help out with this project! Back to business, the event will be held at the Missoula Headstart building (1001 Worden Ave over on the Northside) on April 29th from 5-8PM. Bring your own photography equipment…we’re hoping for good weather to shoot out on their playground but just in case be prepared to shoot in a gym or classroom.
Each photographer will have someone assigned to them to help with logistics. They’ll need to mark down on a clipboard the photographer’s name, each family’s name, the classroom their child attends, and the frame number for the first image…this will help keep things straight. I figure it would be easiest if I do the post processing so at the end of the night we can dump all the images onto my laptop (please take good photos in the cam and only shoot in JPEG…it will just make it easier).
The event will coincide with Headstart’s yearly Feed n’ Read event that has all the families come to the school for a dinner…in talking with the director over there this is the best time to do the portraits…it will have the best attendance (estimate 50-60 families) and we can pull families away one at a time. Each family will get a printed 8×10…as it stands we have to limit it to one per family (but I can give them a disc of the images as well if they’d like…though sadly most don’t have computers).
Finally as it stands we only have 1 makeup artist signed up to help…please if you know anyone who is skilled at all at making people look beautiful (don’t need to be professionals)…please have them get in touch with me!
I did a family portrait for a wonderful family on Saturday. Their little daughter…Sawyer…was turning 1 this week so they wanted to commemorate the occasion. They were great to work with and the photos turned out amazing!Details
This past Saturday I did a senior portrait for Thomas. He was great to work with and it was fun hanging out with his entire entourage that came down from Browning for the shoot.Details
I just did a senior portrait shoot for a fun girl named Tamara. She was a blast to work with and was great in front of the lens.Details
A few weeks ago I did a portrait shoot for a friend of mine. We were trying to get some photos for a modeling portfolio for her. Honestly it was one of the best shoots I’ve done in a while. We got a ton of great photos and she was great in front of the lens.
